Artist opportunities

The City of Swan is seeking Expressions of Interest from a professional Noongar / Whadjuk artist, preferably with local Swan connections to deliver an artwork/s that is a sculptural to contribute to the public amenity of Ballajura Intergenerational Playspace. The content of the artwork should be reflective of the living Noongar culture, particularly as it is embodied within the region encompassing the City of Swan.

The purpose of Public Art in the City of Swan is to “add to the visual amenity, promote cultural diversity and celebrate Place” (POL-C-142). A vision of the City’s Strategic Community Plan is to create unique and attractive places, recognizing that public art can strengthen local identity and enrich the visual environment.

Ballajura Intergenerational Playspace is currently under construction and is expected to be completed early 2025. As such, the Principal wishes to engage a suitably qualified artist to design, fabricate and install sculptural artwork that enhances the play space as well as the overall park atmosphere.

Do you have an exciting idea for an art exhibition or project? The historic Midland Junction Arts Centre (MJAC) is seeking proposals for its 2025 Exhibition and Residency Program.
 
MJAC is looking for proposals that reflect the cultural and artistic diversity of the eastern region, showcasing community identity, and celebrating the stories of local people and places.
 
The expression of interest (EOI) is open to individual artists and curators as well as collectives, community groups and organisations.  MJAC welcomes diverse proposals across all mediums, by creatives of all career levels.
