Event description
Gough Whitlam was the longest serving federal leader of the Australian Labour Party, he was notable for being the head of a reformist and socially progressive government that ended with his controversial dismissal by the then-governor-general of Australia, Sir John Kerr, at the climax of the 1975 constitutional crisis. Whitlam remains the only Australian prime minister to have been removed from office by a governor-general. Richard will be giving a powerpoint presentation on this and other aspects of his life.Please book in as spaces are limited.
This program is suitable for adults aged, 18+ and is workshop without Hands-on activities. Please book one ticket for each person attending. Photography and videography may be taken at this event.
