Library Lovers: Life of Gough Whitlam

Event description

Gough Whitlam was the longest serving federal leader of the Australian Labour Party, he was notable for being the head of a reformist and socially progressive government that ended with his controversial dismissal by the then-governor-general of Australia, Sir John Kerr, at the climax of the 1975 constitutional crisis. Whitlam remains the only Australian prime minister to have been removed from office by a governor-general. Richard will be giving a powerpoint presentation on this and other aspects of his life.

This program is suitable for adults aged, 18+ and is workshop without Hands-on activities. Please book one ticket for each person attending. Photography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.
