Junction: Book Launch and Writers Panel

Event description

Celebrate the launch of Junction, the first anthology to emerge from the Swan Writer in Residence Program. Published by City of Swan Libraries, Junction showcases the work of six writers who took part in a residency at the historic Midland Courtyard Studio during 2024.

The collection features poems, prose, comics, and free verse that were created during their residency and inspired by their experiences in and around Midland. More than a collection, this is a living archive – snapshots of the Midland community sourced by local exploration and connection. The launch event includes a one hour panel discussion with the contributing writers, facilitated by Dr Robert Wood, as they reflect on how community engagement can ignite new ideas and influence creative practice. Featured writers: Lakshmi Kanchi, Chris Bell, Lisa Collyer, Bianca Breen, Rebecca Bowman, and Nina Dakin.

This program is suitable for adults and is book launch with a panel discussion. Please book one ticket for each person attending. Photography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.
