Ellenbrook Library weekend closures in January

Please note that Ellenbrook Library will be closed for three weekends in January 2026 for security upgrades.

The library will be closed on:
- Saturday, January 10, and Sunday, January 11
- Saturday, January 17, and Sunday, January 18
- Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25.
Other library branches will be open as usual during this time.

Prohibited burning period has started

The City of Swans Prohibited burning period commenced on December 1, 2025 and runs to March 31, 2026. All burning is prohibited including garden refuse and campfires.

High call volumes

Please note that we are currently experiencing a high volume of calls. Alternatively, submit your request online.
Changes to kerbside bin collection days this holiday season

As Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on a Thursday, your usual kerbside collection may be picked up one day after your normal collection day.

If your usual collection day is:
- Thursday, December 25, 2025, your bin will be collected on Friday, December 26, 2025
- Friday, December 26, 2025, your bin will be collected on Saturday, December 27, 2025
- Thursday, January 1, 2026, your bin will be collected on Friday, January 2, 2026
- Friday, January 2, 2026, your bin will be collected on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Bins must be placed out by 6am.

Recycling centre closures

The Recycling Centre – Malaga and Recycling Centre – Bullsbrook (including Containers For Change) will be closed Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2025 and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Standard operating hours apply for the rest of the festive period.

Event description

Delivered by Our Place, this free school holiday excursion to Outback Splash is for young people aged 12-25. Participants can access free transport from Midland Youth Hub to Outback Splash and back again.

Food and drinks will be provided. Please bring bathers, a towel, shoes, a hat and a water bottle. For any questions, please contact ourplace.perth@gmail.com.

Transport times:
9.20am – leave Midland Youth Hub, 12 Padbury Terrace
10am-2pm – enjoy Outback Splash
2.40pm – arrive back at Midland Youth Hub.
